MDA IS PREPARED AT THE HIGHEST EVER LEVEL FOR REMEMBRANCE DAY EVENTS AND THE CELEBRATIONS FOR INDEPENDENCE DAY 5768

15-05-08 , 00:44

MDA Director General, ordered the raising of the level of alert and the organisation will be at an unprecedented level of preparedness and will be in attendance with reinforced teams at the Remembrance Day ceremonies and at the outdoor events and stages planned for Independence Day 5768 all over the country.

MDA Blood Services are also prepared for Independence Day and are involved from today already in an intensive blood drive, in order to preserve a high level of blood supplies.  MDA Director General, Eli Bin, and the Chairman of the Worker's Union, Ozer Leifer, were amongst the first to roll up their sleeves and donate blood.

Magen David Adom ambulances and Mobile Intensive Care Units, manned by medics, paramedics, doctors and first aid personnel, will be stationed at Remembrance Day ceremonies for the fallen IDF soldiers in all the military cemeteries and memorial sites where Remembrance day ceremonies will take place.

On the eve of Independence Day, the medical teams of MDA will be spread out, whether at the entertainment platforms or sites of public performances, where those celebrating are expected to gather.  This, in addition to the standard ambulances and MICUs which will be standing ready on routine shifts in the MDA stations.

During Independence Day itself the MDA stations will also be reinforced with standard ambulances and medical teams in order to give a swift response to events and holiday and picnic sites, parks and other open spaces, where there is likely to be a lot of activity amongst the holidaymakers.

The MDA Blood Services again remind the public to donate blood, especially at the time of the Holydays and Festivals.  For details of times and locations - telephone 1-800-400-101

MDA appeals to the public, drivers and hikers, to call the MDA Dispatching Centre - 191 - in the event of any situation involving injured victims.
