A warm Saturday for Sudanese and Eritrean refugees in the MDA administration building
In a unique humanitarian operation, with special help from the Red Cross, the MDA management provided warm shelter, food, mattresses and blankets to approximately a hundred refugees from Sudan and Eritrea who live in the Levinski park in Tel Aviv with no roof over their head; "It's doubtful if they would survive the stormy weather this weekend without a shelter", MDA says.

Kenya Parliament Members Visited Kenyan Trainees in Israel 8 March 2011
As part of its ongoing effort to expand its emergency medical and ambulance services, and in honour of the UN campaign for the International Year of Forests, 26 participants from the Kenya Red Cross Society (KRCS), the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS), and representatives from the Kisimu District Hospital are hosted by Magen David Adom in Israel (IMDA) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to an Advanced First Aid - Training of Trainers program, from 7 - 21 March, 2011.

MDA activities in Haiti
In January 2010, following the horrendous earthquake in Haiti, MDA launched a broad aid program, mobilizing resources and professionals to the affected area. Over 2 million people were affected by the earthquake.
As part of the immediate response, medical and logistic support teams were sent, providing urgent care to thousands injured in the field hospitals.

An unusual way of dissemination
Nearly 700 of MDA Youth volunteers, participants of the Multi Casualty Incidents course, enjoyed an experiential activity on the movement fundamental principals, the Red Crystal symbol and the basics of international humanitarian law.
The activity was led by Mrs. Rachel Ikar-Cohen, the MDA Dissemination Officer, who split the group into two rounds; in each a class of several hundred participants took part.

The "Battle of Solferino" March in Italy, 2008
On June 21th, a Magen David Adom delegation arrived in Solferino, Italy, for the "Battle of Solferino" ceremony followed by a festive parade. This year is the 149th anniversary of the Solferino battle between Austrian and French armies which took place at the cite in the 19th century, an event that marks the birth of the Red Cross and Red Crescent International Movement.

Korean Red Cross granted MDA Chairman with the highest award
"We want to thank the Korean Red Cross for their contribution for achievement between MDA and PRCS", so marked Dr. Noam Yifrach, Chairman of MDA Executive Committee, during his visit in Seoul while being granted the Taegug Award - the South Korean Most Honorable Award, for his contribution and promotion of world peace.
